Scholar Programming
Harlem Miracles will host an afterschool program that focuses on providing all youth in the program with the essentials to excel to their full potential. The program is designed to make sure that each participant is given the additional support they require both emotionally and academically, prepare them with life-skills, provide them with new experiences, and serve as a safe haven.
Tutoring
We want all our youth to excel academically. We have created an infrastructure to work with teachers in training and other professionals who would like to volunteer to work with our students.
Entrepreneurship
Learning what it takes to be an entrepreneur is a skill that changes the trajectory of someone’s future. We want all of our youth to think big and use their talents and skills to create a business that they think is viable. We will walk all the youth through the elements of a business plan, business economics, business contracts, profits, etc.
Financial Literacy
Having the know-how on basic banking elements such as opening a bank account, balancing a checkbook, creating a budget, how to determine the best credit card, how to use credit, etc is important. We want all of our youth to get financially sustainable
Exchange Program
We have partnered with a school in Upstate New York that will allow us to bring some of our youth to their campus to learn horticulture in exchange for hosting some of their students in New York City.
Character Building
We work with our youth to build strong character traits.
Mentoring
We spend quality time with each of our youth in the program to learn more about who they are and their aspirations. One of the major social issues that we tackle is bullying – in person and digitally (specifically on social media).
Technology
Closing the digital divide and providing our youth with access to technology and the knowledge on how to create their digital presence is vital. We will be teaching our youth how to create a resume and LinkedIn profile, along with how to use search engines. We will also teach our youth how to maintain a personal brand across social media platforms.
